Fitzhugh Gates, our local solicitors and notaries with branches in both Shoreham-by-Sea and Brighton, are stalwart Royal Escape Race supporters and have helped this race happen for many, many years. Indeed up until recently the Fécamp race office was run by Patricia Hill who also happens to be a partner, though she is not alone in her love of sailing with Hugo also having a taste for sea spray.
In 2009 we dropped the expensive Royal Escape Brochure and started moving everything online, at which point Fitzhugh Gates took over the sponsorship of the coveted Class Winner Flags. These huge battle banners fly from the forestays of the top Royal Escape boats and are much sought after and we are exceedingly grateful to Pat and the Partners for their long standing generosity.
